General Information About Anuradhapura and Yaphuwa

Anuradhapura is a major city and also the capital of North Central Province. It is believed that Anuradhapura was the capital of the nation from 4th century BC to 11th century AD. This is an ancient city which depicts early Sri Lankan civilization. The City now has named as a World Heritage City by UNESCO. Major tourists attractions are “Sri Maha Bhodi” (Scared Bo Tree), number of stupas (“Ruwanwelisaya”, “Thuparamaya”, “Jetavanaramaya” etc.)
